Professional Program - Barre Close-up

After having performed as principal dancers on stages around the world, we created the Hattori/Williamson School of Ballet with the mission of establishing a new standard of dance instruction in Western Canada for all aspiring dancers - from young dancers putting on their first pair of pointe shoes to dedicated students looking to pursue a professional career in ballet, and everything in between.

Our Programs

Starting with students as young as 4 years of age, the Hattori/Williamson School of Ballet offers programs for people of all ages and abilities. From aspiring young dancers pursuing a professional dance career and dancers preparing to audition for ballet companies, to older adults looking to have some fun in a group setting, the teachers provide a safe and supportive environment for each person to learn and grow through ballet; to achieve their highest level of expression while experiencing the liberation of truly dancing freely.

Our Professional Program is designed for students who are committed to pursuing a career in classical or contemporary dance. The focus of this program is to develop each student into a complete dancer, and multi-faceted artist, while preparing them for the world of professional dance.

H/W School of Ballet - Adult Program

Adult Ballet classes are for individuals, over the age of 16 years, who are looking to get a great workout and challenge their body in new ways, while improving grace through movement, developing an appreciation for the art of ballet, having fun, and making new friends! In addition, participants will increase their knowledge of ballet history and technique.

Our Summer Program is designed for students looking to improve their skills with more intense training over the summer. Students will receive top quality training from principal dancers, improve their technique, musicality and posture, and will meet others dancing at their level. This is ideal for those looking for advancement, to build valuable connections within the dance community and to receive highly specialized training.

The Blue Gala

Come celebrate with us as we present “The BLUE Gala”, the first performance and gala produced by the Hattori/Williamson School of Ballet!

The inspiration for the BLUE Gala comes from this time of year that is typically sombre and where moods are at a low. The performance is designed to lift the collective spirit of the audience with the beauty of dance and movement. Featuring students from the school, special guest dancers, and the directors themselves, this is an evening not to be missed. Guests are also encouraged to wear something “BLUE” to the event!

Guest performers include:

  • Hayna Gutierrez and Kelly McKinlay (Alberta Ballet)
  • Mariko Kondo and Yoshiya Sakurai (Alberta Ballet)
  • Brock Jellison (Tap Artist)

A portion of the profits from the event will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
